Prelude for Peace premieres
Another Krzysztof Penderecki’s work premieres today (1st September). Kraków’s Church of St Peter and St Paul will resound with Prelude for Peace: a work composed especially in commemoration of the 70th anniversary of the outbreak of the second world war. Polish Culture Congress
Krzysztof Penderecki is a member of the Programme Board of the Polish Culture Congress to be held in Kraków from 23rd to 25th September. The Board that has worked since last autumn consists of Piotr Sztompka (Chair), Stanisław Bereś, Cardinal Stanisław Dziwisz, Agnieszka Holland, Zina Jarmoszuk, Andrzej K. Koźmiński, Jerzy Koźmiński, Michał Merczyński, Krzysztof Penderecki, Maria Poprzęcka, Anda Rottenberg, Krzysztof Warlikowski, Andrzej Rottermud, Andrzej Wajda, Antoni Wit, and Edmund Wnuk-Lipiński.
