Krzysztof Penderecki: Honorary Citizen of Bydgoszcz
Krzysztof Penderecki was bestowed with the title of a Honorary Citizen of Bydgoszcz on 12th September, during the inauguration of the 15th Musica Antiqua Europae Orientalis Festival.
“As a composer and conductor, he is a frequent guest at the philharmonic hall”, Dorota Jakuta, the Chairwoman of the City Council explained. “Honouring the artist perfectly suits the promotional symbolism of Bydgoszcz, called ‘the city of music’”. 25 years of Sinfonia Varsovia
Krzysztof Penderecki is the musical and artistic director of Sinfonia Varsovia: one of Poland’s most beloved ensembles. These days, the Warsaw orchestra celebrates 25 years of existence.
