Premiere of Krzysztof Penderecki’s work
The Year of Chopin celebrations will end on 14 January 2011 with the premiere of Krzysztof Penderecki’s work, “A sea of dreams did breathe on me... – Songs of reverie and nostalgia for soprano, mezzo-soprano, baritone, choir and orchestra". The composition was commissioned by the Fryderyk Chopin Institute.

Polish Requiem in Olsztyn
Krzysztof Penderecki’s Polish Requiem will be performed on 17 December in Olsztyn. The composer will conduct the Warmia and Mazury Philharmonic Orchestra and Choir and the Polish Radio Choir in Kraków, with soloists Izabela Kłosińska (soprano), Agnieszka Rehlis (mezzo-soprano), Rafał Bartmiński (tenor) and Piotr Nowacki (bass).
To commemorate the late Henryk Mikołaj Górecki, the concert programme now includes, at Krzysztof Penderecki’s request, Górecki’s “Amen” for unaccompanied mixed choir.
The concert will be held at the Church of Christ the Redeemer on Kardynała Stefana Wyszyńskiego Street in Olsztyn.
