“Portraits and Coins”
The “Portraits and Coins” exhibition opened on 12 August in Cracow near the Barbican, opposite the District Branch of the National Bank of Poland. The exhibition, prepared by the National Bank of Poland, is a collection of over 100 photographs showing well-known Poles together with occasional coins of the National Bank of Poland. These include a photograph of Krzysztof Penderecki.

Penderecki in Chicago
On 15 and 16 July, Krzysztof Penderecki will conduct concerts at the Grant Park Music Festival in Chicago. The programme includes the composer’s Concerto Grosso No. 1 for 3 cellos and orchestra and Beethoven’s Symphony No. 3 “Eroica”. The soloists in the Concerto Grosso will be Julie Albers, Kira Kraftzoff and Amit Peled, and the music will be performed by the Grant Park Orchestra.
