The Passion Month
This Saturday and Sunday, Krzysztof Penderecki will conduct concerts with his St Luke Passion. The concerts will be conducted by the Maestro in Dresden with the participation of the Dresden Philharmonic Orchestra, the Philharmonic Children's Choir, the MDR Rundfunkchoir Leipzig and soloists Sandra Trattnigg (soprano), Thomas Bauer (baritone), Tomasz Konieczny (bass-baritone) and Ahmad Mesgarha (narrator).

Krzysztof Penderecki in the Chapter of the Order of the White Eagle
On 25 February, Prof. Krzysztof Penderecki was appointed by the President of the Republic of Poland, Mr Bronisław Komorowski, to the Chapter of the Order of the White Eagle. The highest Order of the Republic of Poland RP was instituted in 1705, reactivated in 1921 and reinstated in 1992. It is awarded to both civilians and the military for their merits to the Republic of Poland, in times of war and peace. It is conferred to the highest ranking representatives of foreign countries (monarchs, presidents, prime ministers) and greatest Poles representing politics, culture and the arts.
