Krzysztof Penderecki in the Honorary Committee of the Year of Witold Lutosławski
Krzysztof Penderecki has been invited by the Minister of Culture and National Heritage, Mr Bogdan Zdrojewski, to join the Honorary Committee of the Year of Witold Lutosławski. The concert inaugurating the celebrations will be held at the Warsaw Philharmonic Hall on 25 January, the composer’s 100th birthday. Over a hundred music events in Poland and abroad will take place as part of the Lutosławski Year. The concerts of his music will be performed by Krystian Zimerman, Anne-Sophie Mutter and Johannes Moser, among others.

Premiere of Missa brevis
The premiere of Krzysztof Penderecki’s latest work, Missa brevis, will take place on 6 January in Leipzig with the participation of St Thomas Choir of Leipzig, which this year celebrates 800 years since its first performance. The concert, to be conducted by Georg Christoph Biller, will be attended by the composer himself. The Polish premiere will be held on 12 January in Gdańsk. This concert will inaugurate the Maestro’s 80th birthday celebrations and the Polish Chamber Choir’s jubilee of 35 years of artistic work.
