A sea of dreams did breathe on me… in Gdańsk
Krzysztof Penderecki’s “A sea of dreams did breathe on me” will inaugurate the 2012/2013 season of the Baltic Opera in Gdańsk. The work, written in 2010, was commissioned by the Fryderyk Chopin Institute on the occasion of Chopin’s jubilee year and was premiered in Warsaw on 14 January 2011. The concert will take place on 30 September and will be performed by Katarzyna Hołysz (soprano), Monika Ledzion (mezzo-soprano), Leszek Skrla (baritone) and the Baltic Opera Choir and Orchestra in Gdańsk under the baton of Wojciech Rajski.

Krzysztof Penderecki International Composer’s Competition
Works for Certamen Compositorum Internationale Arboretum, the Krzysztof Penderecki International Composer’s Competition, can be submitted until 8 July. The competition is organized by the Radom Chamber Orchestra. The names of finalists will be announced on 1 September. The competition is an opportunity especially for young, unknown composers.
