Professor Krzysztof Penderecki a composer-in-residence at the Curtis Institute of Music
Institute of Music – one of the world’s most prestigious music schools. During his residency in Philadelphia, the composer will conduct composition workshops, coach his chamber music and rehearse a chamber ensemble. A chamber concert will take place on 20 March at Carnegie Hall’s Zankel Hall in New York. The programme features works by Krzysztof Penderecki: Duo concertante, Suite for cello solo, Sextet, Sinfonietta per archi, and Sinfonietta no. 3 (U.S. premiere).

Polnisch-Deutsche Jugendorchester
Krzysztof Penderecki assumed honorary patronage over the concerts of the Polnisch-Deutsche Jugendorchester. The orchestra will work at the European Krzysztof Penderecki Center for Music in Lusławice in April. The programme of the concerts in Leipzig on 14 and 15 June 2014 includes works by J.S. Bach, G.P. Telemann, J. Engel and C.P.E. Bach.
The concerts are organized by Dr Dettloff Schwerdtfeger, the director of Bach-Archiv Leipzig in collaboration with Jan Tomasz Adamus from Kraków.
