Professor Krzysztof Penderecki a composer-in-residence at the Curtis Institute of Music


Institute of Music – one of the world’s most prestigious music schools. During his residency in Philadelphia, the composer will conduct composition workshops, coach his chamber music and rehearse a chamber ensemble. A chamber concert will take place on 20 March at Carnegie Hall’s Zankel Hall in New York. The programme features works by Krzysztof Penderecki: Duo concertante, Suite for cello solo, Sextet, Sinfonietta per archi, and Sinfonietta no. 3 (U.S. premiere). The concert will be preceded by a conversation with the composer. A repeat concert will be held on 22 March at the Curtis Institute of Music.
