Day of Mourning and Hope
On June 14, the Day of Mourning and Hope, the Lithuanian National Opera and Ballet Theatre (LNOBT) will host the performing forces from Lithuania and Poland. The soloists, choir and orchestra will unite in the performance of Krzysztof Penderecki’s Polish Requiem, one of the foremost Polish oratorio opuses. This way the musical community will also celebrate the 80th anniversary of one of the most renowned Polish composers of nowadays. Krzysztof Penderecki himself intends to visit Vilnius.

Polish Requiem in Turku
On 11 June, as part of the Naantali Music Festival in Finland, Krzysztof Penderecki’s “Polish Requiem" will be performed in the neo-Gothic Archangel Michael’s Church in Turku. The soloists Johanna Rusanen-Kartano (soprano), Agnieszka Rehlis (alto), Tuomas Katajala (tenor) and Nicholas Söderlund (bass) will be accompanied by Chorus Cathedralis Aboensis and the Turku Philharmonic Orchestra. The concert will be conducted by Krzysztof Penderecki.
