Concert to mark the 3rd anniversary of Archbishop Józef Życiński’s death

 
A concert to mark the third anniversary of Archbishop Józef Życiński’s death will be held on 22 February at the Teatr Wielki – Polish National Opera. Max Bruch’s Kol Nidrei for cello and orchestra Op. 47 and Krzysztof Penderecki’s Polish Requiem (Lublin version) will be conducted by Krzysztof Penderecki. The performers include Iwona Hossa (soprano), Agnieszka Rehlis (mezzo-soprano), Rafał Bartmiński (tenor), Robert Jezierski (bass), the Warsaw Philharmonic Choir, and the Orchestra of the Teatr Wielki – Polish National Opera. The cello part in Max Bruch’s Kol Nidrei will be performed by Rafał Kwiatkowski. The concert will be compered by Maja Komorowska and Krzysztof Zanussi.

Polish Requiem in Israel

 
The Israeli tour of Krzysztof Penderecki and Polish artists Agnieszka Rehlis, Rafał Bartmiński and Robert Jezierski is in progress. Krzysztof Penderecki already conducted concerts in Haifa, and now the artists are in Tel Aviv, where four concerts will be held (12, 14, 15 and 18 February). The composer will lead the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra and The Gary Bertini Israeli Choir in his Polish Requiem.
