The concert will be broadcast by Polish Radio 2. Ludwig van Beethoven’s Symphony No. 7 will be performed in the second part.
After the concert, Maestro Krzysztof Penderecki will receive the Jerzy Kurczewski Award for outstanding achievements in choral music. The Polish Chamber Choir conducted by Jan Łukaszewski will perform Krzysztof Penderecki’s works for a cappella choir.
The evening will conclude with the premiere of a debut solo album (Experiment: Penderecki) by Piotr Orzechowski, a young Cracovian pianist and jazz composer. Piotr Orzechowski will present Krzysztof Penderecki with the first copy of the CD and play several of his compositions.
