Lifetime Achievement Award for Krzysztof Penderecki

Tomorrow in Nantes, Krzysztof Penderecki will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award for his lifetime’s work. One of the composer’s works, Sinfonietta per archi, will be performed during the gala by the Orchestre National des Pays de la Loire under Maestro Penderecki’s baton.

The jury of the International Classical Music Awards (ICMA) conferred the Lifetime Achievement Award to Krzysztof Penderecki in appreciation of his lifetime’s work. ICMA gives special awards in six categories, and this year it also awarded 14 CDs and DVDs. It is worth adding that in the contemporary music category, a CD with Krzysztof Penderecki’s Violin Concerto No. 2 was awarded. The international jury selected the prizewinners from 250 nominated works solely on the basis of highest musical quality.
