Jastrzębia Góra honours Krzysztof Penderecki

On 10 December 2011 in Jastrzębia Góra, a street will be named after Professor Krzysztof Penderecki.
Krzysztof Penderecki repeatedly stressed his attachment to Jastrzębia Góra, which he has visited every year for 46 years. Both the inhabitants and town authorities vaunt the fact that such an eminent personage takes part in the cultural life of the Władysławowo District while promoting Jastrzębia Góra. For this reason, it was decided to rename one of Jastrzębia Góra’s most representative streets after the composer. Each year during the holiday period, the “Word and Music in Jesuits” Festival takes place in Jastrzębia Góra under the patronage of Prof. Krzysztof Penderecki, in which Maestro Penderecki takes an active part as composer and conductor.
