Krzysztof Penderecki’s October concerts as part of Poland’s EU Presidency
Krzysztof Penderecki will conduct two concerts as part of Poland’s EU Presidency: on Friday, 14 October in Moscow with the Sinfonietta Cracovia orchestra, and on 18 October in Brussels, with the Sinfonia Varsovia orchestra. Both concerts will feature the composer’s works, including the Concerto for viola and orchestra with soloist Robert Kabara in Moscow, and the Violin concerto “Metamorphosen” with soloist Julian Rachlin in Brussels.
The Moscow concert is co-organized by the Kraków Industrial Society and will be held in the Small Hall of the Moscow State Conservatory.
The concert in Brussels is organized jointly with the Adam Mickiewicz Institute. The Sinfonia Varsovia orchestra under Krzysztof Penderecki will perform at the Palais des Beaux-Arts, one of the most prestigious concert venues in Europe.
In addition to Penderecki’s Violin concerto, the programme includes Ludwig van Beethoven’s Symphony No. 7.
