Penderecki and Greenwood in the recording studio

Krzysztof Penderecki’s concerts with Aphex Twin and Jonny Greenwood were an unprecedented event of the European Culture Congress, organized by the National Audiovisual Institute. The event can get even more publicity in the music world because the American label Nonesuch Records will release a CD with the music by the Polish composer and the lead guitarist of the British band Radiohead. The album will be published by the legendary record label based in New York. Nonesuch Records has released albums from such artists as Björk, Ry Cooder, Kronos Quartet, Steve Reich or Henryk Mikołaj Górecki, as well as the soundtracks for films such as “Kundun”, “Requiem for a Dream”, “There will be Blood” or “Sweeney Todd”.
The recording takes place at the Alvernia Studios film studio, which has a music scoring studio that accommodates a 100-strong orchestra and is prepared, thanks to an adjustable acoustic system, to make all types of sound recordings.
The composers will be accompanied by AUKSO, one of Europe’s best chamber orchestras, founded by graduates of the Academy of Music in Katowice, and led by Marek Moś – an outstanding violinist, conductor and chamber musician.
The album is produced by Filip Berkowicz, the artistic director of the Sacrum Profanum, Misteria Paschalia and Opera Rara festivals, and the curator of Penderecki’s concerts with Aphex Twin and Jonny Greenwood at the European Culture Congress.
