Penderecki in Chicago

On 15 and 16 July, Krzysztof Penderecki will conduct concerts at the Grant Park Music Festival in Chicago. The programme includes the composer’s Concerto Grosso No. 1 for 3 cellos and orchestra and Beethoven’s Symphony No. 3 “Eroica”. The soloists in the Concerto Grosso will be Julie Albers, Kira Kraftzoff and Amit Peled, and the music will be performed by the Grant Park Orchestra.
The Grant Park Festival in Chicago has been held every year since 1935. The classical music concerts take place every summer at the Millennium Park. Over the 75 years of its existence, the festival has been honoured with the presence of such greats at Van Cliburn, Jascha Heifetz, Aaron Copland, Alfred Brendel, Leonard Bernstein, Pinchas Zukerman and others.
