Budapest, Moscow, St. Petersburg
On 4 June, Krzysztof Penderecki will conduct a concert in Budapest as part of the Russian-Hungarian project organized during the Year of Liszt. Another concert will take place in Moscow on 17 June.
In both concerts, the Concerto Budapest Orchestra conducted by the Maestro will perform Liszt’s Les Preludes, Penderecki’s Violin Concerto No. 2, and Beethoven’s Symphony No. 7. Russian violinist Maxim Fedotov will be the soloist.
Also in Moscow on 10 June, Krzysztof Penderecki will conduct the Sinfonia Varsovia orchestra at the 6th Festival of the World Symphony Orchestras. The programme of the concert includes two symphonies: No. 5 by Krzysztof Penderecki and No. 6 by Dmitry Shostakovich.
In June, Krzysztof Penderecki will also appear in St. Petersburg to conduct the Mariinsky Theatre Orchestra (23 June). He will also sit on the jury of the International Tchaikovsky Cello Competition, which will be held in Moscow between 27 June and 1 July.
